Swamps are for Lovers

I woke up on the wrong side of bed today and was a miserable and fretful grump that just could not get moving. I decided that I needed to take a nap and was determined to forget the first half of my day and wake up fresh and productive. This strategy rarely works and I usually just end up messing up my sleep schedule therefore becoming even grouchier. It actually worked today and I'm so pleased to end my evening feeling like I've accomplished something.

I printed two sparkling new designs! Oh, it has been such a long time since my shop was freshened up and I really appreciate those who have continued visiting this blog during this past stretch where I wasn't making much.

Here it is! "Swamps are for Lovers" really makes me smile. It had been lingering in my sketchbook for quite awhile but I figured it was a particularly appropriate time to share. It is awfully sweet and silly and (maybe I'm just reading way too much into the idea) but since Justin and I have fallen into a crummy situation we keep trying to cheer ourselves up with the hokey "all you need is love" mantra. These swampfolk appear to feel the same and are content with each other's company even though they live in stinky muck.

I'll share the second print tomorrow since they are still drying.

This is so much better than I ever thought it could be. I'm glad you didn't take my advice and made it anyway. Apparently I'm not always right. I'm shocked.

It's the pits being in a rut but I'm glad that you found something to cheer you up. What? Justin thinks he's always right? Wonder where he gets that from? :o)
