Allow me to re-introduce myself

I was talking with a friend recently and had one of those moments where you realize that the advice you are giving to someone else is the advice you need to take yourself. I was giving her so much encouragement to start a blog, telling her how fun and easy and helpful writing can be and suddenly I became very aware of my own blog and the fact that it hadn't been touched in many months.

I realized that I could make such a passionate case for blogging because it meant something to me and I missed it. I do silly things sometimes and, in retrospect, I think neglecting to keep up with this blog was one of those silly things.

I'm going to try and make a habit of writing and sharing here again. This time around I want to be more honest. I stopped blogging at the same time one of my close relatives became very sick and I think I wanted my blog to be ALL HAPPINESS ALL THE TIME and just couldn't keep it up. I fell prey to my favorite saying of "if you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all" and since I was full of worries and big life questions, I opted to keep quiet instead of talking about what was worrying me.

Argyle Whale blog version two is going to try to be a whole person and I hope you old friends still enjoy visiting. There will be bunnies and drawings like old times with the addition of furniture restoration, general life ponderings, garden growing and a grumpy hedgehog.

Welcome back! I struggle with the same thing, wanting it to be all happy-happy-joy-joy.... I, too, have decided to go with reality when the situation calls for it!

Elise, I'm glad you're back! When I first started OG I felt the same way but in reality your readers care a lot about you and what going on outside of the "Argyle Whale" persona. Also, thanks for the bag suggestion, I love yours and will be keeping an eyeout for one similar!

so good to see you the other night, we should see one another more often!

Welcome back Elise! I'm so glad you are back to blogging and I look forward to reading all, happy, sad, etc... I feel that pressure too about being happy all the time and have been trying to get out of the habit. My first step was to cut back on exclamation points, it seems ridiculous since I'm soft spoken in person.

I'm joining the "I'm-so-happy-you're-back-to-blogging" club! Keep it up Elise! We all want to know EVERYTHING about you! haha But, seriously - let's see lots of photos of your new place and stuff! Maybe someday I will come back to the North Shore for a visit and see it in person :)

Thanks everyone for all the encouragement! Not only did I stop writing but I actually stopped reading too so now I'm going through and reading all your blogs to catch up.

Also, thanks for being a forgiving bunch!
