Justin and I have been living in our home for nearly two years now. That seems unbelievable. We still have the light fixtures that I promised would be "the first things to go".
When we first moved in, we filled up the most massive green wall in our living room with every portrait we owned, stood back and enjoyed it. Some were framed, some pinned, they were irregularly hung but we had more pressing projects to tackle (like eliminating all the tan paint).
We are very slow decorators and home improvers so we left the portrait wall in it's original state. I am so glad that I finally added shelves and neon orange hardware because it makes the whole room look more orderly! The living room is going through a major change and I'm optimistic that it will be pretty neat. I am inheriting a family piano and have just cleared space for that and we agreed to get rid of our television and set up a projector! My big fantasy right now is to use the piano and projector to have a silent movie party with live accompaniment. I have a flapper dress that needs to be seen.

ooh, definitely a fan of the redo.
and as for redecorating pace...my family and have lived in our house for almost 2 decades and still have on box that is unpacked. so...
:)
It looks gorgeous! Love the portraits, arrangements, and the wall color, too!
I love that! I especially appreciate how you made the shelf brackets orange instead of trying to hide them, which never really works out anyway. I have some of those brackets lying around...that inspires me!
I actually like the light fixtures! They're kind of charming.
love love love it!!!
Becca, I committed the sin of moving twice with boxes that didn't get unpacked the first time! I have this plan to have a tag sale... been planning it for years.
Thanks for all the good feedback! I'm tackling an even bigger project this week.

Amy, you are definitely invited! Hey, don't you play the piano some?
