Double Disapproval!

My mother-in-law sent me a jubilant message the other day letting me know that she'd seen my "Danger For Breakfast" print on DisapprovingRabbits.com and that I was now probably famous. I was, of course, ecstatic to see my illustration on one of my all time favorite blogs. My excitement doubled when my video of Hodge and Yoshimi sleeping was posted to the Disapproving Rabbit's blog shortly after! Double feature! Wowee!

My head is spinning a little (in the best possible way) from the sudden influx of orders that come with such a stupendous feature. It has made me reassess my shipping and packing procedures for maximum efficiency in rush times.

It has also made me realize the true power of a blog mention! Disapproving Rabbits found out about my prints because someone sent them a link to my shop (Thank you mystery friend!) and I started thinking that I should take it upon myself to incorporate introducing my work to blog authors as a regular part of my rather spare promotion attempts. The process makes me feel a little awkward and self-concious but I think it will be worth it!

I love this! I bought one of the buttons at Bizarre Bazaar in Boston. It completely sums up my new teenage rabbit, Coal.

This is so amazingly exciting. Twice on the blog!! I'm so happy for you. And I totally need to buy that print now that I can fully appreciate the destructiveness of the bunny rabbit. ;)

I totally agree about the self-consciousness inducing power of self-promotion, but I think it is a good idea, nonetheless!

I've tap-danced around the idea of printing up some info cards for a press kit, myself. we'll see,

good luck!

I've just headed over from Disapproving Rabbits...and I have a suggestion! Your illustrations would be freakin' adorable on tshirts, and I would definitely buy them. And I don't think I'd e the only one. Consider doing that if you're able!

This print is so funny! Reminds me of my puppy and his near death power supply chord nibble. I'm such a fan! Congrats on the features & may you have many more in the future!

Disapproving Rabbits is the best; I bet Hodge and Yoshimi are proud of their double feature!

In related news, my bun Grey ate danger for lunch on Saturday when she bit through my boyfriend's Nintendo DS cable!

I came here via Disapproving Rabbits and am glad I did! Wonderful stuff, and I second the t-shirt idea.

I found your work through the disapproving rabbits page - my Jack is on there again today. I think your art is so original and charming. I laughed out loud when I saw your Bunny Face print. I would LOVE to have that design on a t-shirt or bumper sticker. I have designed (and sold) t-shirts on Zazzle before, but I would feel too guilty stealing your idea to make my own! Have you thought about selling your work somewhere like Zazzle or Cafe Press?

Thanks for all the interest in this design on a shirt! I'm working on some semi-long term plans to set up a screenprinting studio to allow me to print apparel.

Schenley, your bunny is so adorable. He has a similar coloring to Hodge. I've definitely considered using cafepress or zazzle but decided I'd prefer to make everything myself even though it means waiting until I have the space. I appreciate you not making your own products from my design. My rabbits and I would greatly disapprove of that.

Will you reprint that design for all the disapproving rabbits fans who found you after it sold out? =) I'd love a big one to frame and hang over my bunnies' pen. Right next to the mangled computer cord picture my boyfriend sent me the day he saved Ruby from electrocution. =)

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for asking. I won't be printing another edition of this design as wall art but I'm trying to use it on a tote or tee someday soon. Send me your email if you'd like an update when the project is completed.

PS: Thank goodness Ruby is OK!

Hi,
I've been reading your blog for a while - I am a big fan. Your drawing style is wonderful. My friend and I recently started a craft-related blog (www.foxflat.wordpress.com) and we posted Argyle Whale on our "Sites We Like" list.

I've been meaning to write and introduce myself, compliment your work, etc. I was cruising around your site trying to find a contact email...but then I found this post instead. Blog-to-blog intros. Perfect!
