I have butterflies and big big plans!

I can hardly contain myself. The good solid advice of "Don't get your hopes up too much" has been ignored and my whole heart is excited about the possibility that I will have a studio and retail space in downtown Salem! Like, in a couple months! Maybe!

I went on a site visit today to check out prospective spaces in the cluster of little buildings known as "Artist's Row" and I have to admit that setting foot in the studios had an intoxicating effect on my already weak rational side. I know that there are other artists applying for this program and that there are only four spots available but I WANT THIS SO MUCH that I am ignoring reasonable doubt in favor of twirly dancing.

The photos above are of my favorite unit out of the available four. It's currently storing all kinds of stuff and needs a major facelift but if it becomes mine, I'll make it a real stunner!

Well, it's not mine yet because the application period hasn't ended but I have a good feeling. Maybe I'm just a crazy optimist!

But, If I am awarded this space, I'll do a ton of superficial renovation (painting, floor covering and lighting). Plus, I'll dedicate half of it to a full screenprinting studio and the other half will be nice like a store.

WOW! I hope you get it; fingers and toes crossed! That would be so cool, it's such a cute little space too. :)

I just showed Kayla and she said, "and the color is a refreshing green and green means creativity". How the heck does she know that? It's adorable and I wish you the best. Good luck, I hope you get it!!!

I'll cross my fingers for you, nothing like something HUGE like this to give you a major creative adrenaline rush. I can't even imagine how fun renovating for a store space would be.

Psst, maybe the nice people in charge shall read this and see how deserving you are:)

HOLY CRAP, congratulations! (I am seriously tempted to do the multiple exclamation mark thing, but as I am currently sober I can't quite bring myself to it.) Oh my god, how exciting! The decorating possibilities! Wow!

That sounds so exciting!!! I am so happy at this possiblilty for you- I some how stumbled upon your blog from somewhere and I have to say I quite enjoy reading it. I think I feel some sort of connection knowing that you are in MA(Ithink). I use to live in princeton (north of worcester) went to school first at endicott and then transfered to Framingham state for studio art. I always enjoy meeting some else from the area that enjoys art and being creative like me- so hi! Keep up the good work!!
