woodland creature project PART TWO

All those little animals I made for Laura found their way into her 2011/2012 look book for her Pansy Maiden vegan bags! Look at those models making like Snow White! The Look Book is a stunner and I'm so glad to be part of it. I am also proud that my first bit of client work was for such a good company.

Take a peek at the rest of the collection here: http://www.pansymaiden.com/look-book/

But wait! This story isn't over yet. My original paintings of deer, rabbits and chickadees are stuck floating on a white page. They served their purpose but I can't leave them like that. I will show you what I am up to with them soon in PART THREE (the satisfying conclusion to this saga).

Sightings of Elise in the wild:

I've always been the indoorsy type. I like to spend my time drawing and cooking and internet-ing and napping and bunny petting. The truth is, I don't get out much. In an effort to be a more well rounded and healthy person, I've begun to pry myself out of my cozy home and get out in the fresh air! While I still need some convincing to take my slippers off in favor of hiking boots, I've really enjoyed my latest outdoor activities.

Ridiculous attempt at wood chopping at Gram and Gramp's house:

Day-tripping to Cider Hill Farm's orchard to pick our own apples:

Going on an edible foraging tour with expert plant-picker Russ Cohen:

It really is the best time of year to be in New England. I feel ashamed that it took a doctor telling me I have a vitamin D deficiency from lack of sunlight for me to "rustle my stumps" and take advantage of the non-paved areas nearby.

many more photos/descriptions of these excursions are over at my Flickr.

Acorn top tacks

I planned to do some dramatically overdue yard work this afternoon but it was muggy outside so I let myself do a little productive procrastination crafting.

acorn tops + upholstery tacks + hot glue = some darn cute new pushpins for my bulletin board that are helping to put me in the Fall spirit.

The project took me a hot minute. You should make some too!
