Chris & Julie's wedding in Maine

I can't relate to the people who complain that they are at the age when everyone they know is getting married. I am at that age and I think it is THE BEST that every summer I can look forward to a few sacred unions and dance parties with people I love in the spirit of celebration.

Last weekend, I enjoyed Julie & Chris's bubble-filled, suspender-clad, bonfire, camp-out weddingfest up in rural Maine. There was a pie bar and Coyotes sung us to sleep! There were also ten golden retriever puppies to snuggle in the morning.

I made Julie & Chris some wedding thank-you cards as my gift and I think they turned out pretty cute for crustaceans. I thought lobsters would be appropriate since the wedding was in Maine and lobsters have a reputation for being long-run mates. Their claw bands/rings are printed in shimmery gold ink. I'm so glad I bought that tube of gold ink because I used it in my wedding cards and Ashley & Justin's too!

The cats in the bag

I was cleaning the studio the other day and came across a stack of these cat cards I made last summer for Ashley and Justin's wedding gift. I printed extras for my shop and when I found the stack I wondered to myself why I hadn't sold any.

Turns out, the reason I hadn't sold any is because I'm a nincompoop and never actually put them up for sale online! Yeesh.

Well, they are up now. Better three seasons late than never. Get 'em while they're room temperature!

Pot-o-clover postcards for a wedding

I spent today printing these simple save-the-date cards for my friends Christine and Nate's Irish-themed wedding. I have never made a custom design for something so important as a wedding before so I made the process harder than it needed to be. I was very critical of all my design ideas and ended up dreading the project a little because I was so afraid of letting my friends down (even though they were very easygoing about the whole thing).

When I finally buckled down, committed to a design and began printing, I enjoyed the process as much as ever.

A moment ago, I went to deliver the cards to Christine and Nate and they were so pleased that I have to laugh at myself a little for being a hyper-critical neurotic. The experience turned out so nicely that I hope to have the opportunity to do special custom prints again sometime!

I love Justin 4L.

This Thursday, Justin and I are celebrating our 8th anniversary of togetherness and it's also our very first wedding anniversary! We're going to take a quick train trip to the lovely seashore in Gloucester and have a fancy breakfast.

I'm tempted to get all mushy about how we are best friends and how supportive he is but I will refrain for the sake of his manly image.

I was looking through my shop today finding Valentines Day appropriate items that I could promote when I realized that many of my items are lovey and inspired by Justin. My first big success was my "wii belong together" valentine that I'd originally made for him and my second most successful item is, "bunnies adrift" which I drew one day specifically to make him smile. This made me think of how he has been helpful to my creative business in more ways than the much appreciated post office errands and tech. assistance. He makes me so happy that I want to make happy things!

Justin is my biggest critic but also my best inspiration (wait, maybe the bunnies are) and I love him like crazy. Looks like it shows.

Golden Love Bunnies!

Justin and I have been spending time at a local coffee shop lately finishing up our post-wedding thank you cards. Luckily, it looks like I made more than we'll be needing so I have put a set up in my shop. I really like this design (probably because it's of my bunnies) and I hope that some couple thinks they are just right for wedding cards and wants to place a special order. I rarely offer that in my listings because custom orders tend to freak me out and weddings would be especially stressful. But, I think this would be fun.

Post-Wedding Brunch

Well, Justin and I are back home from Connecticut where my Mom was throwing a big brunch for the family in honor of our marriage. We were lucky to have had a perfect sunny day and tasty food. Mom planned everything so I didn't really know what to expect but she did a fantastic job and I think everyone had a nice time.

Mom wanted me to wear my wedding dress again but I felt awkward about that. We compromised that I could change it up a little for the party. For the party I took out the tulle underskirt and put on a yellow belt and my yellow pumps for a more casual and spring feeling. Justin changed to a yellow shirt too. Matchy matchy!

Connecticut was fun but I am extremely glad to be home now because I got some glow in the dark ink in the mail that I can't wait to experiment with today! Just you wait!

Back from honeymoonin'

Today is my first regular day after getting back from our honeymoon. We had a fantastic time in NYC and we stayed just long enough so it felt good to come home. I was even happy to get back to working at the bakery. That may have something to do with the apricot almond ricotta tart they invented while I was away.

Things are pretty much the same as they were before I was Mrs. Elise Towle Snow but I feel extra happy. For as long as I can remember, Justin and I have had some big task ahead of us and now that we have both finished school and the wedding we feel a crazy sense of freedom. My mentality for so long has been "let's just get through school and the wedding and figure out the rest later". Now I'm not really sure what to do. It is an exciting time for us. Even if we decide to stay living in the same apartment and working the same jobs; the sense that we are waiting in limbo will be gone. Whatever we choose, the big difference is that we will feel like our life is now instead of something to do while we wait and work towards something else. As for now, we are too dazzled by the slick T.V. we got as a wedding gift to make plans.

Oh, I also recognize that this isn't much of a honeymoon and wedding recap but I'll post more later when I get the pictures back.

I'll be wearing this bracelet from Swizzlet. It is cast from a swizzle stick. Neat!


We used these letterpressed cards from Palindrome Press as invitations. They were perfect because we have a sort of winter trees theme for the wedding and we're marrying at A Cardinal House.


These Birch tree mugs are from Rabbit Toes by Jessica Rust. We had ours painted with our initials and the year. I am extremely excited to give these away as favors!


There is a whole lot that I've been slacking on with the wedding. It is under two weeks away and I still haven't picked out the photographer, hairstyle, flowers and a zillion other things. But, I am proud of all the neat things I scored off Etsy that have been delivered in time. I'm not all bad.
