ArgyleWhale.Etsy.com is finally open!

I've been waiting and waiting for the new year so I could get my new Etsy shop running. I thought it would be easier for bookkeeping if I waited until 2008 to really get started. I listed two Gocco prints today despite Etsy being a little frustrating and buggy while I worked. I am excited to announce that "Barnacle Whale" and "Treasure Patterns" are now available for purchase. These two prints were some of my first and are possibly my favorites.

"Treasure Patterns" was inspired by my affection for ancient gaudy riches and wonky geometry. I also made it so I could try out the jazzy gold ink I bought that has little sparkles inside.

"Barnacle Whale" was made after I learned that the barnacle patterns on whales are all different and are sometimes used by researchers in identification. The barnacles are like a fingerprint. I also enjoyed drawing the barnacles and creating a design that was almost lacy.

Both these prints are from a limited run in this color combination. I will probably introduce a second altered printing of each in the shop later on.

My first day of the new year has been spent cursing iphoto, my scanner and Etsy. Still, I'm very pleased to have my shop up and running. I welcome any advice or criticisms about my listings or general shop setup while I work out the kinks.

Congratulations on the grand opening! Can't wait to see what else you come up with. I still sit in awe of you and Justin's creativity. It inspires me a lot of the time, just so you know. You make me want to try and be more creative.

Can't wait to see you next week! I can't believe it's almost here.
