Not a reccommended trust-building activity

I've been trying to grow my hair out long for quite awhile now. My goal was to have enough hair so I could wear two braids wrapped up on my head like a birds nest. I have had short or very short hair for the past 10 years or so and my progress to shoulder-length was significant.

On a whim yesterday I decided that Justin should cut off my hair before he headed to work. We videotaped the process (coming soon). I told him he could cut it however he wanted but I chickened out when he said he wanted me to have a shaved head again. He snipped haphazardly with his chosen butchering tool of pinking shears and then became bored. After ten minutes of snipping "anything that sticks out" he told me I was done and looked fine.

When I saw my reflection; I was amazed at what a broad definition of "looking fine" he has. I snipped the diagonal mullet-stravaganza into a slightly layered bob and called it a day. I think it looks pretty but I may go a bit shorter to even things out more.

I don't know what I expected, but I always thought hair cutting was pretty simple. The experience was fun but I definitely won't be hiring Justin as my stylist anytime soon.

I think he did a darn nice job. Am I missing something because it looks really nice. Very flattering to your face.

hi helen,
I let him cut my hair and it came out comically atrocious. The pictures I put up were after I fixed it up and cut it into a bob. Thanks for the compliments!

Haha, I would never ever let my husband cut my hair. I have to cut his every Sunday (military standards)...it saves us a lot of money. It looks cute how you fixed it, cant wait to see a video!

Well, there are haircutters and then there are artists. Thankfully I found an artist... because letting my husband and his big mitts put scissors to my head would not bode well for our marriage.

It looks good! I don't know what it looked like before, but I think it turned out just fine.

I've let my husband cut my hair as well. I promised I wouldn't be mad if he messed it up, but then we he did, I was. He knows better than to agree to snip my bangs, no matter what I say.

xx Tia

I told my mom about your recent haircut and that you let Justin do it, and she had the same look on her face that I did. It didn't come out badly at all. Very cute. I am just amazed at your courage to let HIM cut your hair. He can't even draw a stick figure. :p

wow- You are very trusting! My husband lets me cut his hair, but I don't think I'd do it the other way around. You look really cute- it turned out great!

That IS trust. I cannot imagine letting Billy come near me with scissors! He shaves his head and butchers that.
